Lehigh Valley Puppy Mill Watch
The only reason these dogs are alive is to produce more
puppies to sell to pet stores.  Once they can no longer do
that, the lucky ones are rescued or killed quickly, the
unlucky ones are just not fed and starved to death.  When
you see that adorable puppy in the pet store, think about
where its parents are and how they are treated.  Would a
good, responsible breeder sell their puppies to a store
where they have absolutely no control over where they go?
No, the puppies you see in the pet stores are from puppy
mills!

A puppy mill is a commercial breeding facility where profit
is the most important thing, not the welfare of the animals.
A backyard breeder can be as small as a family having two
dogs in the back yard that they breed for profit and don't
care properly for them, most puppy mills are bigger and
have anywhere from 20-500+ dogs.  Most mills over-breed
and under-care for the dogs.  Most do not get veterinary
care and have to live their lives in small rabbit hutches or
cages with wire bottoms, that often result in the loss of a
limb and/or bloody paws.

To keep things more quiet, the millers will "De-Bark" the
dogs by shoving a metal pipe down their throat to rupture
their vocal cords.  These dogs are not given a name, toys,
vet care, treats and never even know what grass feels like.

Lehigh Valley Puppy Mill Watch is a
grassroots organization that is dedicated to
educating consumers and residents of the
Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas about
the pet store-puppy mill connection.  We are
run by volunteers and on donations.
Our new billboard is finally up!  Adams
Outdoor Advertising donated billboard space
and time for a beautiful Humane Society of
the United States billboard.  LVPMW and
HSUS worked together with Donna from
Adams for this billboard to become a reality,
it is right on Rt 22 going east, right across
from the mall (before the Fullerton exit).
You have to check it out!
